Our Hiring Process

At Peak Home Services, we take the role of hiring very seriously.

We understand that you want a Cleaning Service Provider who is good at cleaning, but also one that you can trust, and as such, our recruitment process has been designed to be one of the most comprehensive in the industry.

Each of our staff has been through the following steps before gaining employment with us.

Step 1: Applicant applies for role online.

Step 2: Applicant undergoes a phone interview where they are asked a range of questions relating to things such as their past experience, their motivation for applying for the role, and their home address to ensure that they live within reasonable proximity to the areas we service.

Step 3: The applicant is visited within their own home, allowing us to verify that the address information they have provided us is correct. After all, these are people we will be entrusting to visit others - many of whom are vulnerable citizens - in their homes, and the home visit provides us with another checkpoint before progressing the candidate to the next stage of the interview process. It also allows us to discuss how our business operates, and the expectations that we have of our employees.

Step 4: The applicant attends our business base and undertakes a trial clean. This allows us to observe how they follow instructions, how proactive they can be, and the level of care they show in undertaking aspects of the role. It also allows us to interact with them in yet another environment.

Step 5: The applicant will go through a number of checks.

These include, but may not be limited to:

  • Reference check

  • Police check

  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening Check (NDIS Check)

Step 6: If the applicant progresses successfully through each of these stages, they will be offered a role with us. They will undertake a period of probation and then proceed to permanent employment if all parties are satisfied with the arrangement.

Our Employment Conditions

At Peak Home Services we strive to be the first choice for not only our clients, but also for those seeking employment within the industry.

Unlike many similar businesses, our team members are fully employed by us, and not sub contracted.

“Creating an environment with a positive and supportive workplace culture, one where people enjoy working, is incredibly important to us.”

We have found that this has a number of benefits for all parties including:

  • Employees have a greater level of stability and financial security

  • Employees do not need an ABN as we pay them directly, looking after tax and superannuation

  • We look after our employees Workcover, insurance, and all appropriate leave entitlements, including those mandated by the government

  • The business attracts a higher calibre of staff with a much lower attrition rates, allowing clients and employees the opportunity forge more trusted relationships

  • There is greater efficiency achieved for all parties when same staff attend regularly

  • Research shows that permanent employees often take greater pride in their work

Creating an environment with a positive and supportive workplace culture, one where people enjoy working, is incredibly important to us. We have regular meetings and catch ups, and this allows them to meet others that they may not work directly with on a day-to-day basis. As many of them live close to each other, they often have common life threads, and these regularly create strong foundations on which close relationships are forged.
